Former UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev has clarified that his US visa was not denied, but delays in obtaining a P-1 work permit prevented him from competing at the MVP MMA event. The main fight of the card will feature Ronda Rousey against Gina Carano.
“The issue was specifically with the P-1 visa required for professional athletes. I completed training camp, made weight, and was fully prepared for the fight. I warned [Adriano] Morales weeks in advance that visa complications could affect the bout,” Mokaev wrote on X, adding that there is no conflict between them and that he considers the Brazilian “a good guy.”
Replacing Mokaev will be Fumi Enkuta, who faces Morales in a catchweight bout at 130 pounds. Mokaev, who left the UFC in 2024 with a 7-0 record in the promotion, remains undefeated in his professional career.
