Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies made history on Sunday by crushing his 17th home run of the season, marking his first career five-game consecutive home run streak in a road game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Starting as the designated hitter and batting second, Schwarber launched a 92.8 mph inside fastball from Red Sox pitcher on a 2-1 count in the top of the first inning with one out and no runners on base. The ball left his bat at 101.6 mph, traveling 386 feet into the right-field bullpen.

With this blast, Schwarber moved past New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge to claim the outright MLB lead in home runs. He had previously hit two home runs off Tomoyuki Sugano in a game against the Colorado Rockies on May 10, marking his second career four-game home run streak (since May 2023), but a five-game streak is a first for the 33-year-old outfielder.

Schwarber’s current pace projects to 65.6 home runs over a 162-game season.
