Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese striker for Al-Nassr, has spoken directly to the club’s supporters after a frustrating draw with Al-Hilal that delayed the team’s chance to clinch the Saudi Pro League title early.
On Tuesday, Al-Nassr played to a 1-1 stalemate against Al-Hilal in the 32nd round of the Saudi Arabian football championship. The home side was on the verge of victory until the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, when goalkeeper Bento accidentally deflected the ball into his own net during a poorly-timed exit.
A win would have secured Al-Nassr the league title ahead of schedule. Since joining the club in 2023, Ronaldo has yet to lift the Saudi Pro League trophy.
“The dream is near. Keep your heads up, we are just one step away! Thank you for your incredible support,” Ronaldo wrote on social media.
In the final matchday, Al-Nassr (83 points) will host Damak at home. Second-placed Al-Hilal (78 points) still has matches against Neom and Al-Fayha to play.
