In the 29th round of the Russian Premier League, Dynamo Moscow defeated Krasnodar 2-1 at home. The reigning champion Krasnodar now sits on 63 points, losing the top spot to Zenit St. Petersburg, which has 65 points. Alexander Mostovoy believes anything can still happen.

“That’s the beauty of football—miracles sometimes happen. Sometimes. Zenit will go out and try to win. Until today, everything depended on Krasnodar. But as I said, they could stumble against Dynamo, and that’s exactly what happened. So they have only themselves to blame,” Mostovoy told RIA Novosti.

When asked about his preferences, Mostovoy emphasized: “I don’t support either team. I support Spartak. I don’t care who becomes champion. Whoever deserves it will become champion.”

In the final round of the RPL, Krasnodar will host Orenburg at home, while Zenit will travel to face Rostov, currently in 10th place. All matches of the 30th round will kick off simultaneously on May 17 at 6:00 PM Moscow time.

Mostovoy played 65 matches for the Soviet Union, CIS, and Russia national teams, scoring 13 goals. At the club level, he represented Krasnaya Presnya, Spartak Moscow, Benfica, Caen, Strasbourg, Celta Vigo, and Alavés. He retired from professional football in 2005.
